Leeds Carnegie's winning run helps to retain players

Key's Carnegie side have recently beaten Sale, Wasps and Saracens

Leeds director of rugby Andy Key believes their upturn in form is helping players decide to sign new contracts at Headingley.

Leeds have won their last three to move off the foot of the Premiership table.

Hendre Fourie and Scott Barrow have recently signed new two-year deals with the club, and Key believes other will follow their example.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "The brand of game we're playing and the way the guys are performing is helping massively."

He added: "It's a slow and long process but we find ourselves in a very positive position now.

"We're talking to players' agents and players themselves and over the next couple of weeks we hope there's a whole number of others that are going to follow suit with both Scott Barrow and Hendre Fourie."
