Director of rugby Andy Key says Leeds Carnegie are determined to keep climbing the Premiership table.

Sunday's 19-12 victory over Saracens moved them off the foot of the league for the first time since September and up to 10th.

"It's great to be off the foot of the table," Key told BBC Radio Leeds.

"But the way this club is going and the way the spirit of the side is, that's not good enough. We want to be even higher than that."

The West Yorkshire side's victory at Headingley was their third straight Premiership win, a feat the club had not achieved since the 2004/05 season.

"I think that in last four weeks we have put a real marker down for ourselves about the standard and consistency we need to meet in order to compete in this competition," explained Key.

"I'm delighted for the players that we are now off the bottom because they have worked so hard to achieve it.

"The job isn't done yet as there is a lot of rugby left to play and we can't get carried away but we need to enjoy this moment.

"This club has been looking onwards all the time because the infrastructure and management structure is there and we now have players that unbelievably want to play for this club.

"That's plain to see now as we saw a side out there perform for Leeds and for Yorkshire and it was just outstanding to watch."

Leeds now face a two-week break before travelling to Gloucester on Saturday, 29 March.

"I think where we are in terms of the season our squad needs a rest now, so this break is a good thing for us," Key said.

"We set the players a challenge for this last four games and what a result to claim three wins and a losing bonus point against Leicester.

"So the guys now do need a little bit of a rest now and it's well earned."
