Wentzel won the Premiership title with Leicester Tigers last season
New Leeds Carnegie signing Marco Wentzel has backed the side to be a force on their Premiership return.
The South African second-row arrived at Headingley on Tuesday after originally signing for the club in April.
Wentzel joined from Leicester Tigers, where he worked with Leeds management duo Andy Key and Neil Back.
"We can definitely be a force. Andy and Neil have coached at the highest level and their CVs speak for themselves," Wentzel told BBC Radio Leeds.
Wentzel, who played against the British and Irish Lions for the Southern Kings in South Africa this summer, added: "Coming up to the Premiership is not easy - it takes a lot of hard work.
"[But] those guys have coached in the Premiership and know what it's all about."
Meanwhile Leeds have announce that Yorkshire-based airline Jet2.com will become the club's official main sponsor for the new season, on the same day they unveil their new kit.
Leeds rugby commercial director Rob Oates said: "We are delighted Jet2.com have decided to increase their support of the club this season, especially as it is such a significant year for us on our return to the Premiership.
"I am sure that the players will do the kit proud as they take on teams from across England, Wales, Italy, France and Romania in the forthcoming season."
BBC Radio Leeds will have full match commentary of every single Leeds Carnegie Guinness Premiership game.
