Leeds Carnegie hooker Phil Nilsen's hopes of going out on loan to a National League club have been scuppered due to an ankle injury.

The 23-year-old, who has made just one senior appearance, will be out of action for at least five weeks.

Nilsen had a loan spell at National Two side Otley earlier this season.

Andy Boyde, who was also due to go on loan, will now concentrate on his university studies instead, as well as playing for the Leeds Academy A team.
