Harlequins' Danny Care is banned for dangerous tackle

Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care has been given a week's ban by the Rugby Football Union for a dangerous tackle in the Premiership game against Leeds.

The 22-year-old England player's ban runs from 10 December, meaning he can play again from 17 December.

But the ban is academic as Care had already been suspended for one game by Harlequins following the incident in the 30-27 win at Headingley.

Care was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle on Leeds forward Rhys Oakley.

Meanwhile, Quins have extended the contracts of English trio Chris Robshaw, George Lowe and Ollie Kohn.

Robshaw and Lowe are both products of the Quins academy, while Kohn is in his fourth season with the London club.

"These are exactly the type of young English players that the club is built on," said Quins chief executive Mark Evans.

"I am looking forward to announcing further signings in the near future."
