Evans pleased with Quins progress

Harlequins coach and chief executive Mark Evans
Evans says Harlequins have had a good season

Harlequins chief executive Mark Evans says everyone connected with the club is delighted with making it through to the Guinness Premiership play-offs.

Quins will meet London Irish at home on in the semi-finals after finishing second in the Premiership table.

Evans told BBC London 94.9: "It's been a long campaign but we're one game away from a grand final now.

"London Irish are the only team to beat us here in the league. I'm sure the boys will want to reverse that."

Following a commanding team performance and victory in Quins' final league game against Newcastle, Evans was also keen to further the claims of number eight Nick Easter and scrum-half Danny Care in the event of any late call-ups for the Lions squad for the summer tour to South Africa.

He said: "I thought Nick Easter and Danny Care were absolutely outstanding. If there are any late call-ups for the Lions they certainly wouldn't let anybody down."
