All Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick has joined Harlequins as a non-executive member of the board of directors.

Former hooker Fitzpatrick won 92 caps for New Zealand, captaining his country from 1992 until his retirement in 1997.

"We are delighted that someone of Sean's experience and expertise has decided to join us," said Harlequins chief executive Mark Evans.

"At such an exciting time in the club's development I am sure he will add value in a number of key areas."

Fitzpatrick, 45, won his first cap in 1986 and became first-choice New Zealand hooker when Andy Dalton was injured at the start of the 1987 World Cup.

The Auckland product slipped into the All Blacks number two jersey and played a key role as his side claimed the inaugural Webb Ellis Trophy.
