Care welcomes challenge of Ellis

Care could be named in the England squad to tour New Zealand

Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care is looking forward to taking on England number nine jersey rival and Leicester counterpart Harry Ellis this Saturday.

Care told BBC London 94.9: "I've watched him for a few years and always wanted to play against him."

The RFU will next week announce the England side to tour New Zealand and Care could be an inclusion.

"If anything happens in the summer then it happens, if it doesn't I can go on holiday. I'm not fussed," added Care.

"To be honest I'm just trying to get Quins in that top four."

Harlequins travel to the Leicester Tigers for the last game of the season, with both sides hoping to sneak into the Premiership play-offs.

Care on the signing of Nick Evans

"Harry Ellis is a great scrum-half and he's playing with a great team," said Care. "We both like running with the ball and making breaks.

"He's got some great attributes that I like to look at and work on."

Last week the 21-year-old went head-to-head with the last man to wear the England number nine on his back, Sale's Richard Wigglesworth.

Care said: "It's always good to pit your wits against him and I thought it went quite well. We both had an alright game."

Meanwhile, Care added that the Harlequins players are looking forward to New Zealand fly-half Nick Evans arriving at the club following his recent signing.

"We're really excited, the players are buzzing," he said.

"Loosing Adrian Jarvis is a bit of a blow but obviously getting someone like Nick Evans means everyone is really looking forward to him arriving.

"It will bring a new dimension to Harlequins. It could be a good year next year."
