Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath has criticised his side's lack of team effort following their European Challenge Cup defeat by Agen.

The Cherry & Whites were beaten 26-19 in France in their first group game in the tournament on Friday.

Redpath told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Some of our individuals are jumping out of the team script and it's not good enough at this level.

"Rather than one or two individuals we need a massive team effort."

Gloucester were leading with eight minutes remaining, but with the scores level at 19-19 with a minute to go, Opeti Fonua's second try of the night won it for the home side, despite appearing to lose control as he crossed the line.

Redpath's side now host Rovigo of Italy, who lost their opening group game to La Rochelle, in their second game in the competition on Saturday

"We need to get on with it next week and make sure we do learn from it," he added.

"We have a point [in the group] but I am so disappointed as it should have been a minimum of two."
