Interview: Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan

Gloucester coach Dean Ryan is confident his young side can defeat Munster in the Heineken Cup on Saturday.

"I think it's harsh to say 'you've got to stand up and be counted.' There's still a lot of young men here," he told BBC Points West.

"But we're in a European quarter-final, they don't come round very often, and we think if we get things right we can get through and get to the semi.

"We know, and we've proven with our European form this year, we can do it."

You can't avoid the excitement around these kind of games

He added: "We've been through a disruptive period and we've lacked a little bit of fluency and that has come through in our results.

"But you can't avoid the excitement around these kind of games - players want to play in them."
