Bath's England centre Olly Barkley has agreed to join Gloucester in the summer on a two-year contract. The 26-year-old is out of contract at The Rec at the end of the season and had been stalling on a new deal.
"This was not an easy decision to make and I am determined to leave the club on a high at the end of the season," said Barkley.
Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan said: "This signing reinforces our desire to create a competitive environment."
Barkley is the second highest points-scorer in Bath's history, amassing 1,538 points in 164 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2001.
He will join up with former Bath team-mates Gareth Delve, Mike Tindall and Iain Balshaw at Kingsholm.

Barkley said he was relishing the challenge facing him at Gloucester.
"When you look at the training facilities at Hartpury College and the stadium developments at Kingsholm, it is clear that Gloucester is a club that is going places," he said.
"I look forward to playing my part next season and establishing myself in the squad."
Ryan added: "We were looking for an experienced back to enhance our squad for next season and Olly fits the bill perfectly.
"He is a skilful runner, clinical kicker and versatile enough to play at international level in more than one position.

"Olly recognises that he will have to work exceptionally hard to earn his place in the Gloucester team owing to the strength of our existing squad.
"But that is one of the reasons we wanted him - he has a great attitude and will not shy away from the challenge."
Barkley was a member of England's 2007 World Cup squad and has scored 116 points in 13 appearances for Bath this season.
Despite his decision to quit the club, Bath coach Steve Meehan expects him to continue giving 100% to the cause for the rest of the current season.
"I am positive Olly's efforts and commitment will continue until he departs.
"However, I am surprised [by his decision] when you consider how far the team has come in the last 18 months, the style of rugby we are playing and how involved he has been in its evolution," Meehan commented.
