Glasgow Warriors tight-head prop Moray Low has signed a contract extension for a further two years.

The 25-year-old, who joined Glasgow as an apprentice in 2006, made his Scotland debut against France in 2008.

He praised the club at the opening of a new training facility at Scotstoun Stadium, saying it would help his play.

"Not only do we have a great group of lads here, but we will soon have a fantastic training facility in Scotstoun," he said.

"I believe the more young players we can keep here the better, so I'm happy to have made sure my future is in a Glasgow jersey."

Warriors head coach Sean Lineen praised Low's contribution to the Magners League leaders.

"Moray has so much potential and I think it's just fantastic that he's signed with us," he said. "I've watched him grow since he signed as a youngster.

"He's got a great work ethic and it shows his ambition to stay with Glasgow. He's becoming a leader and playing for Scotland is what he deserves.

"He will be one of the key men in the future years of Glasgow."

Lineen was also at the opening of the £18m redevelopment by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, the patron of Scottish Rugby, and looked forward to his side starting to use the facility in June.

"The facilities here at Scotstoun will become central to the future success of Glasgow Warriors both on and off the field," he said.

"Not only will some of the country's elite international rugby players be working here each day, but the stars of the future will be encouraged and nurtured through the use of such world-class surroundings. This is a great day for Glasgow Warriors and Scottish Rugby."

Steven Purcell, leader of Glasgow City Council, pointed out that the facilities would benefit other sports as well.

"Today marks the start of a new era for sport in Scotland, with the improved facilities further enhancing Scotstoun's international reputation as a world-class sporting venue," he said.

"Scotstoun will play a key part in our preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, when some of the world's top athletes will compete in our city.

"More importantly, the new facility will provide a real and lasting legacy for all of our communities as we build a more active Glasgow for future generations.

"But this is only the start. Along with the other planned Commonwealth Games arenas, including the National Indoor Sports Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Scotstoun will ensure that Glasgow is recognised as a centre of excellence in world athletics."

Scotstoun Stadium's capacity is 5,000 - with the flexibility to increase in the future - and the redevelopment will allow it to bid for world-class events.

As well as a refurbished track and field, there is a full-length indoor warm-up track, conditioning suites and state-of-the-art media facilities.
