Eddie will be missing from the Glasgow line-up for three months |
Glasgow's wonderful win in Toulouse has come at a cost, with back-row James Eddie and centre Andrew Henderson set to be sidelined for lengthy periods. Eddie suffered significant knee ligament damage during Saturday's 33-26 Heineken Cup victory and will be out for around three months. And Henderson will miss two months after fracturing a thumb. "It's a challenging time but there's a bounce in the step after the weekend's result," said coach Sean Lineen. "We're in a very difficult time of the season in terms of squad depth so we just need to a little bit smarter than other clubs who maybe have larger squads." Eddie and Henderson join Tim Barker (knee) and Lome Fa'atau (shin) in the treatment room, both of whom continue to make good progress. Scrum-half Mark McMillan has returned to full training and Sam Pinder is fit again, both having recovered from knee trouble. Fly-half Ruaridh Jackson, a surprise call up to the first Scotland squad for the Six Nations, has also resumed training after resting a calf injury over the weekend.
