Robinson hits out at Rennie ban

Edinburgh flanker Ross Rennie
Edinburgh forward Rennie will be out for two weeks for dangerous play

Edinburgh head coach Andy Robinson is angry about the two-week ban slapped on Ross Rennie for a dangerous tackle.

The flanker has been punished for a challenge on Wasps wing Paul Sackey in the 25-16 Heineken Cup defeat.

The independent disciplinary committee said Rennie's offence was at the "low-end of the level of seriousness".

"Naturally, I'm very disappointed," said Robinson. "Anyone who knows him will testify he is a competitive player, but not a reckless one."

Rennie was reported by match citing commissioner Brian Fowler and will miss Sunday's Heineken Cup return match.
