De Luca has been in fine form for Edinburgh this season |
Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca has vowed to nullify the threat of Brian O'Driscoll and his fellow Leinster backs in Saturday's Heineken Cup match. The Scottish side lost 28-14 against Leinster last Friday, but De Luca was praised for his performance in the number 13 jersey.
And the 23-year-old said he was relishing the prospect of facing the Irish side at Murrayfield.
"Playing against Brian O'Driscoll is a great challenge," he said.
De Luca said the Edinburgh backs would be aiming to keep a clean sheet at Murrayfield.
"It's not just O'Driscoll we have to deal with - there is also Gordon D'Arcy just inside him and Shane Horgan outside him," he said.
"Leinster have also got Felipe Contempomi, who pulls the strings at 10.
"They have got a very talented backline, so it is a challenge for our whole backline to try to subdue them."
De Luca added: "Unfortunately they managed to get three tries at the weekend, so the backs' goal this weekend is to achieve a clean sheet."
