Lynn Howells departed after the SRU took control of Edinburgh |
Scottish Rugby chief executive Gordon McKie has expressed delight at the quality of candidates to be the new head coach of Edinburgh. A deadline of 21 August has been set for applications to be received for the post previously held by Lynn Howells.
"We have been impressed with the overall quality of candidates coming forward for this post," said McKie.
"We recognise the need to identify a top quality head coach quickly for Edinburgh."
Howells was relieved of his position when the SRU took control of the club back from the franchise led by Bob Carruthers.
"Following next Tuesday's deadline for applications, we plan to move ahead swiftly through a structured selection process to secure the ideal person," added McKie.
