Blair said he had no desire to leave Edinburgh |
Edinburgh scrum-half Mike Blair has signed a one-year contract extension. The 26-year-old, who has earned 37 caps for Scotland, said he was delighted with the deal to keep him at the club until the end of season 2008/09.
"I am delighted to be staying with Edinburgh as the new owners, Alex and Bob Carruthers, show a lot of ambition," said Blair.
Blair was named in Scotland's World Cup training squad on Tuesday and is getting married later this week.
The scrum-half said he was settled in the Scottish capital and saw no reason to switch clubs.

"I'm happy to be part of Edinburgh and help forge the direction in which it is going," Blair said.
Blair underwent shoulder surgery in March and is looking forward to returning to full fitness next term.
"It's been frustrating being injured this year, but I am working hard at the moment and looking forward to playing for Edinburgh next season."
Edinburgh head coach Lynn Howells said the club was in the middle of rebuilding for next term.
"We have identified key personnel around whom we are building our squad," he said.
"Mike, who has a wealth of experience and knowledge, is central to those plans and we are delighted to have him for at least the next couple of seasons."
