Cardiff Blues' first pre-season friendly fixture will be at Guinness Premiership newcomers Exeter Chiefs, on Saturday, 21 August.

Exeter beat Bristol in a two-match play-off to win promotion to a tier that also takes them into the Amlin Challenge Cup and LV= Cup.

Cardiff Blues ended fifth in the 2009-10 Magners League.

But they won the Amlin Cup, beating Toulon 28-21 in France to become Wales' first European trophy winners.
