A dejected Cardiff Blues side after the final whistle |
Flanker Martyn Williams says Cardiff Blues have no complaints about their 41-17 Heineken Cup quarter-final defeat in Toulouse. "We spoke all week about a big start and we are 10 points down before we know it," he said. "To come back from 10 points down away in Toulouse is a huge ask. "We fought back really well, got back to 16-10 and started to play a bit of rugby, but they really turned the screw on us in the second half." He added: "Territorially we couldn't get out of our own half and they've got such dangerous backs and they pulled away in the end. | 606: DEBATE |
"We've got no complaints as we've come off second best." And coach Dai Young agreed with Williams' views but says the scoreline was flattering for the French side. "They were the better team and deserved their win," he said. "I thought their extra bit of class and extra bit of physicality started to tell in the last 20 minutes. "They are clinical, you give them opportunities and they will take them. "I thought they deserved their win, they are a major force in Europe and we've still got a lot of improving to do."
