Blues coach Dai Young has backed Jamie Roberts to win his first Wales call-up when Warren Gatland announces his Six Nations squad next week. The full-back has been in impressive form in his first full season for the region, playing 13 times.
Roberts, a medical student, has played at wing as well and Young says it would not be a shock if he was included by the new Wales coach.
"He's really put his hand up and deserves his opportunity," he said.
"I'm not going to stand here and pick Warren Gatland's squad, that's for him to do.
"I'm just really pleased how he's performed for us but there's a number of players I feel that are in a position to put their hand up for the squad."
