Dafydd Hewitt led the Cardiff Blues scoring after half-time |
Cardiff Blues finished their pre-season in style thanks to a second-half blitz to see off visiting Gloucester. In a match delayed by three hours on Saturday due to traffic jams, Gloucester led 10-7 at the break after Ryan Lamb's intercept, plus two kicks.
Tal Selley had opened the scoring for the Blues, with Dafydd Hewitt starting the scoring in the second half.
That opened the flood gates and Nick Macleod, Rhys Williams, Mark Lewis and Ben White all crossed for the Welsh.
Gloucester had given a debut to Lesley Vainikolo, the rugby league convert showing some nice touches during the opening period.
Blues start their Magners League season at the Arms Park next Friday against defending champions the Ospreys.
