Bristol flanker Redford Pennycook is hoping to make his league debut against Saracens on Saturday and play against his hero Richard Hill.

"My idol when I was younger was Richard Hill from Saracens, so I'm quite lucky he's playing his last game against us," Pennycook told BBC Radio Bristol.

The 22-year-old added "He was always my idol playing for England at 6, because I was a 6 throughout my rugby career."

Pennycook has made two appearances as a replacement in the Premiership to date.

The youngster believes in the future he could be capable of playing either blindside or openside flanker.

"Since I came to Bristol, I'm looking at seven as well as six but Richard Hill's been my main influence.

"I'm really looking forward to [playing him]. It should be a good game - I'll see what he's made of."
