Scrum-half Cusiter has won 31 caps for Scotland |
Scotland and Border Reivers scrum-half Chris Cusiter has signed for French side Perpignan on a two-year deal. The 24-year-old, who has won 31 caps for Scotland and toured with the Lions, will join Perpignan in the summer when the Borders club closes down.
"The prospect of playing for a big club like Perpignan, who have a great set-up and a massive following, was too good to turn down," said Cusiter.
"Borders gave me my start in professional rugby. I owe them a lot."
Cusiter was disappointed at how his time with the Scottish club has come to an end.
"It's the uncertainty that has been the bad thing," he said.
"With the SRU financial situation, it's a real shame for the Borders area and a lot of the guys involved."

Reivers head coach Steve Bates said: "Chris has been a huge part of this club since he came here in 2003.
"He is a well respected member of the team and a consummate professional. He sets a positive example to our younger players and those that he meets in the community.
"I'd like to thank Chris for everything he has done for the team and wish him all the best for the future."
