Fly-half Dan Parks held his nerve to convert Colin Gregor's late try and clinch a narrow victory for Glasgow over Borders.
Borders, who took an early lead with three Calum MacRae penalties, were six points up with three minutes to go thanks to a try by Kelly Brown.
Hefin O'Hare's try towards the end of the first half had given Glasgow hope.
But, with both teams struggling in the torrential rain and howling winds, they needed Parks to secure the win.
Borders were further hampered by the loss of Simon Danielli on his return after six weeks out with a fractured cheekbone.
The Scotland winger was stretchered off after 26 minutes and although he was able to resume briefly after treatment, he failed to appear for the second half.
