Simon Halliday has stood down as non-executive director of Bath following a management shake-up at the club.

Nick Blofeld, the new chief executive, is due to take over in two weeks following a series of drugs-related incidents and allegations at the club.

Halliday, 49, took the role two years ago, at the invitation of owner Andrew Brownsword, to act as a liaison between the board and the playing staff.

The former England international played 170 times for Bath between 1981-1990.

Bob Calleja, Bath's outgoing chief executive said: "The club are very grateful for the contributions in time and effort that Simon has put in.

"In the future, the club will not be appointing any more non-executive directors."
