Promising Bath duo sign new deals

Bath

Promising duo Nathan Catt and Jack Cuthbert have signed new two-year deals with Bath.

Catt, recently named in the England Saxons squad to face Portugal, joined the Bath academy in the 2003/04 season as an under-16 back-row forward.

He has also represented the England Under-18 and Under-19 sides.

Cuthbert, a kicking full-back, came through the academy ranks, after joining in 2005/06 and has already started six times this season.

Bath's skills and defence coach Brad Davis praised Cuthbert's skills.

"One of his most obvious skills is his goal-kicking, and that is a big facet of his game," he said.

Meanwhile, forwards coach Mark Bakewell said Catt could develop into a top-class player.

"One of the biggest things about Nathan is his potential," he said.

"We are working very hard to ensure that he has a long and successful career and believe he is in the best place to develop for his future."
