Bath head coach Steve Meehan has played down suggestions winger Matt Banahan is in the running for an England call-up. Banahan, 20, scored four tries in three games at the start of the season after switching position from lock.
Meehan told the Western Daily Press: "If you start going willy-nilly in regards to offering an international debut it is dangerous.
"Matt has terrific potential. That's one thing but realising that potential is another thing completely."
Meehan added: "We shouldn't get carried away with potential. We should get carried away with results.
"We want to keep Matt's feet firmly on the ground. Matt is in the embryonic stages of his career. He will get an opportunity here where there's a lot of older players around."
