Trimble gets his first start in the Six Nations campaign

Ireland have brought in Andrew Trimble and Jonathan Sexton for Saturday's Six Nations game against England in Dublin.

Trimble's inclusion on the wing results in a positional switch with Keith Earls moving to full-back and Luke Fitzgerald dropping out of the squad.

Sexton comes into the fly-half role at the expense of Ronan O'Gara, who moves to the replacements bench.

Eoin Reddan is named at scrum-half but he remains a doubt after suffering concussion against Wales on Saturday.

Reddan is making good progress and will visit a neurologist to confirm if he is fit to play.

Tomas O'Leary was ruled out of contention on Tuesday because of an eye problem so Peter Stringer will again be on the bench.

Fitzgerald has paid the price for a nervous display against Wales as he continued in his struggle to make the transition from wing to full-back.

"If Luke has made any errors they're probably because he's trying too hard and he's been overstretching himself," said Kidney.

"Andrew has been knocking at the door for quite some time and has done well. Andrew was showing great form going into the Six Nations."

Captain Brian O'Driscoll is the only survivor from the starting line-up thumped 42-6 by England in the Grand Slam decider in 2003, though Stringer, Paul O'Connell and O'Gara were on the bench that day.

However, two players remain from the 2001 showdown when England also arrived in Dublin looking for a Grand Slam only to be beaten 20-14 in O'Driscoll and David Wallace, with Stringer and O'Gara on the bench that day.

Ireland have established a tremendous record against England since 2003, winning six out of their seven meetings.
