Shane Horgan limped off in Leinster defeat at Kingsholm |
Shane Horgan has been ruled out of the first two matches of Ireland's Six Nations campaign with a knee injury. The winger picked up the problem in Leinster's Heineken Cup defeat by Gloucester on Friday.
An Irish Rugby Football Union statement said: "Horgan sustained cartilage damage to his left knee."
He is expected to be out for four to six weeks, meaning he will miss the games in Wales on 4 February and at home to France on 11 February.
Horgan will also be a doubt for the arrival of England on 24 February and may only return to face Scotland on 10 March.
