Best suffers ankle fracture blow
Simon Best
Simon Best was replaced by Justin Fitzpatrick on Friday night
Simon Best will miss Ulster's crucial final Celtic League game and Ireland's summer tour after suffering a broken ankle in Friday's draw at Llanelli.

Prop Best was stretchered off after 30 minutes of Ulster's 12-12 draw against the Scarlets at Stradey Park.

Best will miss next weekend's game against the Ospreys and Ireland's summer tour of New Zealand and Australia after fracturing a fibula.

He will visit an orthopaedic specialist on Sunday to have the injury examined.

If an operation is required, he will undergo surgery on Wednesday.

Ulster coach Mark McCall said: "This is a major blow to us and to Simon, particularly with the Ireland tour coming up."

"He has had a wonderful season and has led from the front on the field, as well as being inspirational off the field."

Stephen Ferris sustained a twisted ankle and will undergo a scan on Monday to determine the extent of the damage.
