Mark McCall's Ulster side are on a great run in the league |
Mark McCall says his Ulster side will go into their last two Celtic League games with a great chance of claiming the title for the first time. The province are top of the table after beating Borders 63-17 in their final home game of the campaign.
"It was great to sign off our home season with a performance like that," said coach McCall.
"We have two really tough games against the Scarlets and Ospreys to come but we can travel with some confidence."
Ulster stormed into an early lead against Borders with four quick tries.
"We took our four chances in the first 20 minutes," added McCall.
"Maybe we were a little sloppy in the final 20 of the first half but at half-time we spoke about killing the game and not conceding any more tries.
"We scored some great tries in the second half and it was a really good night for us.
"That was our eighth victory from eight which is phenomenal.
"But we have to assess the injuries we picked up. I feel desperate for Jonny Bell, and Kieran Campbell also got injured near the end."
Bell, making his final Ulster appearance at Ravenhill, sustained a suspected broken wrist, while Campbell came off with an ankle injury.
Ulster play the Scarlets at Stradey Park on Friday before finishing the season away to the Ospreys on 26 May.
