Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan hit out at New Zealand centre Ma'a Nonu after the All Blacks' 45-7 win at Lansdowne Road on Saturday. Nonu produced a challenge on Gordon D'Arcy which brought back memories of the tackle which put Brian O'Driscoll out of the Lions tour last June.
"His tackle on Gordon D'Arcy looked quite nasty," said O'Sullivan.
"But everybody has seen it and the authorities can make up their mind whether there is anything to answer."
O'Sullivan added that it was "not something you want to see every day in rugby".
The Ireland coach revealed that Saturday's captain Simon Easterby could be a doubt for next weekend's game against Australia after suffering a further facial injury against the All Blacks.
Easterby had been a doubt for the New Zealand match after breaking his nose recently.
"He's getting fixed up at the moment and we don't know how long it will keep him out for."
O'Sullivan said his players had given "everything" over the 80 minutes.
"New Zealand had a huge amount of possession and they didn't kick the ball away and kept running at us.
"We had to make an awful lot of tackles in the first half...and as the game goes on it takes it out of you.
"We were actually out on our feet at the end of the game."
