Alan Gaffney's Munster side are currently second in the Celtic table |
Munster coach Alan Gaffney will leave the Irish province at the end of this season to take up an assistant's role with Australia coach Eddie Jones. Gaffney said that the decision to leave Munster had been "a wrench" but added that he was "deeply honoured" to be offered the Australian role.
His Munster team face Biarritz in a Heineken Cup quarter-final next month.
Connacht boss Michael Bradley and Irish assistant Niall O'Donovan are among the favourites to succeed Gaffney.
Mick Galwey is another man being linked with the job.
Gaffney has led Munster to two Heineken Cup semi-finals and a Celtic League title.
