Connacht ground out another Celtic League victory over a Welsh side when they defeated the Dragons in Galway. Full-back Matt Mostyn scored Connacht's only try while fly-half Paul Warwick weighed in with three penalties and a dropped goal.
A Gareth Baber try and a trio of Craig Warlow penalties saw the Dragons take a 14-13 at the break.
However, Connacht' defence proved too strong as they kept their line intact in the second half.
Connacht's victory comes after wins against the Scarlets and leaders Ospreys in recent weeks.
Mostyn's try came early in the half when Darren Yapp picked up a loose ball in midfield to dart through a gap and although tackled was able to off-load to the former Newport and international wing to score.
Warwick and Warlow swapped penalties before a blindside snipe off a stalled maul saw scrum-half Baber race over from 10 metres out to put the Dragons in front at half-time.
A gutsy rearguard and Warwick's third penalty on the hour and a 30-metre strike on 75 minutes saw Connacht to a morale-boosting win ahead of Montpellier's Challenge Cup visit next Saturday.
