Ulster coach Alan Solomons is impressed with Ronan McCormack |
Ulster's chase to sign two Connacht forwards may be thwarted. Ireland 'A' prop Ronan McCormack and Galwegians lock Damien Browne are two players earmarked by Ulster coach Alan Solomons.
While McCormack travelled to take up an invitation to watch Ulster train at Gibson Park on Monday, Browne was an absentee.
Solomons is at present involved in a search to fill the voids up front left by Justin Fitzpatrick and Mark Blair who are set to join French clubs.
Ulster appear keen to offer the former Irish Schools and under-21 prop a contract, but there are still a few sticking points yet to be ironed out before any deal goes through.
The 24-year-old Buccaneers loose-head, is from Dublin but moved west in search for better opportunities and has been a regular in the Connacht side all season.
He played for Ireland 'A' against France at Ravenhill last month is very keen to further his career.
Browne, meanwhile, is still only 23 and was born and bred in Galway, and it is believed that he is reluctant to leave his home city.
