Johann Muller will win his third cap for South Africa in Saturday's Tri-Nations match against Australia.

Springboks coach Jake White has made two changes to the side beaten 35-17 by New Zealand on 22 July.

Lock Muller replaces Albert van der Bergh while fit-again winger Akona Ndungane comes in for Breyton Paulse.

Hooker Chiliboy Ralepele is on the replacements' bench for the first time. Captain John Smit will play his 36th Test match in a row.

South Africa are looking to restore some pride after they were humbled 49-0 by Australia two weeks ago, the heaviest defeat in Tri-Nations history.

Assistant coach Gert Smal insists the team are undaunted by facing the Wallabies again in Sydney this weekend.

"For the last two years we have beaten the Wallabies more than we've lost against them so from that point of view we feel confident," he said.

Aug 05: Australia 19-22 SA
Jul 05: SA 22-16 Australia
Jul 05: SA 33-20 Australia
Jul 05: Australia 30-12 SA
South Africa have won six and lost four of their last 10 Tests against Australia, but only one of those victories - 22-19 in Perth last year - has come on Australian soil.

Smal's fellow Springboks assistant coach Allister Coetzee said the 49-0 loss was "very, very, very, very disappointing", but believes Australia have weaknesses the visitors can exploit.

"There's always weaknesses that you try to isolate," he said. "You play sometimes to their strengths where they don't expect it and sometimes you play to their weaknesses as well.

"What one would like to see is the individuals stand up to show what they're made of.

"That's probably the beauty of the game, it gives you the chance from one week to the next to make amends.

"We're not here to fill out numbers, we're here to win the competition."
