O'Driscoll hopes his knowledge of the referee pays dividends |
Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll has pin-pointed the way to beat New Zealand in Saturday's second Test in Auckland - dominance at ruck situations. However, O'Driscoll knows that much is dependant on the interpretation of referee Jonathan Kaplan at the tackle.
"Dominance of the breakdown is very important," said O'Driscoll. "But it can vary from game to game, depending on who the referee is.
"You play to your knowledge of the ref. It might be different this Saturday."
The Ireland captain says that it could lead to a little conundrum on what way things go.
"It might be different this weekend with a different referee. You might find both sides playing him differently," he said.
Meanwhile, Leicester full-back Geordan Murphy is still a doubt for the Irish.
Murphy has an Achilles tendon strain following last Saturday's 34-23 defeat by the All Blacks in Hamilton.
