Laporte took charge of Les Bleus in 1999 |
France coach Bernard Laporte has announced he will retire from rugby union after the 2007 World Cup. France will host the tournament and Laporte, who took over in 1999, is under huge pressure to win the event on home soil.
He told Rugby magazine: "One thing is certain, I will no longer be a coach and I will not be taking on any club.
"I want to do something else," added Laporte, who has won three Six Nations titles since taking charge of France.
