White led Scotland to third place in the Six Nations |
International captain Jason White has been rewarded for a fine showing in the Six Nations after being named Famous Grouse Scotland Player of the Season. The 28-year-old led the national side to victories against Samoa, France, England and Italy this term.
"I'm massively pleased to win this award particularly when I look at some of the great players who have won in the past," said White.
"We all believe there's more to come from the Scotland team."
White, also voted Players' Player of the Season, pipped his back-row colleague Allister Hogg to the honour with winger Sean Lamont in third place.
And the powerful Sale flanker has also been nominated for the English Premiership player of the season.
Capped 54 times, White will lead Scotland against the Barbarians in May and on the summer tour to South Africa.
