Thomas hopes to concentrate on a full pre-season's preparation |
Wales captain Gareth Thomas is likely to sit out Wales' two-Test tour of Argentina in June. The full-back, 31, missed the last three games of the Six Nations after suffering a mini-stroke when an artery in his neck collapsed.
That prompted fears he would never play again. He has firmly rejected those reports, but says in his BBC column it may be prudent to rest in the summer.
"I'd love to tour but have been advised to give it a miss," said Thomas.

"I can start training this week if I want, but the doctors have told me to wait another week.
"That's why I was so surprised to read reports that I was going to retire. I've never said such a thing!
"I'll keep playing for Wales as long as people think I'm good enough.
"The only issue I've got is my family, but they've given me the confidence to know they support me when I play.
"I'll probably concentrate on having a proper pre-season then just play it by ear and see how things go.
"Next year's World Cup is definitely a goal. It'll be my fourth World Cup and that would be quiet an achievement."
Wales could turn to Clive Griffiths to lead them to Argentina if their new coach is not appointed in time.
Long-term injuries Brent Cockbain, Ryan Jones and Gareth Cooper will not be ready to challenge for tour spots.
Tom Shanklin, Chris Horsman and Kevin Morgan would also seem very doubtful.
The extent of Dwayne Peel's shoulder injury is still being assessed, but - even if he is available - Wales may well take the opportunity to rest him and their other players from the 2005 Lions tour.
