The Welsh Rugby Union board could face a vote of confidence after calls from one of its member clubs for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM). Just 10 votes from the WRU's 245 member clubs are needed to trigger an EGM.
Llantwit Major RFC chairman Mike Hill feels the clubs are owed an explanation over last week's departure of Grand Slam-winning coach Mike Ruddock.
On Tuesday the board gave its unanimous backing to chief executive Steve Lewis over his handling of the affair.
Although Hill does not want to call for an EGM until after Wales complete their RBS Six Nations campaign, he says transparency is needed before Ruddock's departure is laid to rest.
"The WRU cannot draw a line under the issue yet until they hold a special general meeting with the clubs, or explain to the clubs exactly how they came to that decision last (Tuesday) night to back Steve Lewis and the rest of the management," Hill told BBC Wales.
"There's a few things need to be answered of why the (Wales) players went to Steve Lewis with a problem with Mike Ruddock.
"Also the chain of events that led up to Mike Ruddock's contract being withdrawn or suspended.
"Once the WRU has explained all that then there should be a vote of confidence in the board - or not as the case may be."
The news will heap further pressure on the WRU, after it was revealed on Wednesday that Ruddock is set to take the Union to court over his departure from the job.
