Italy coach Pierre Berbizier said his team will learn valuable lessons from their 31-16 loss to England in Rome. After impressing against Ireland, Italy ran England close and Berbizier said the next game, against his own country France, would also be tough.
"It will be very hard for us for our next game, but if we want to improve we need to play against these teams and see the progress," he said.
"We knew this was a big test. It wasn't enough to win but it was a good fight."
England ran in four tries, but James Simpson-Daniel's stoppage-time try gave the scoreline a misleading air, as Italy gave England a tough game.
"When you play a team like England, who are impressive and strong, you have to have a good defence so we have to work more and more to progress," he said.
"We have played our game and scored a very good try, so it's interesting for us for the future.
"We have to prepare a team for the future and I hope we will be ready for the World Cup."
