O'Driscoll being stretchered off following his injury in the first Test |
Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll is expected to be released from hospital on Sunday following an operation to repair his dislocated right shoulder. O'Driscoll was controversially injured in the first Test against New Zealand and missed the rest of the tour.
The 26-year-old Irish star went under the knife in Dublin on Friday and is comfortable after the operation.
A spokesperson said he will rest up for two weeks before starting a busy rehabilitation programme.
"It's too early for him to say what his goals are as far as playing again.
"He will not know until he starts his rehab. But everything seems fine at the moment and he is very comfortable after the operation."
O'Driscoll is not expected to be available for Ireland's autumn internationals when they play New Zealand, Australia and Romania.
