Lions assistant coach Ian McGeechan has called on the tourists to get their set pieces right in their bid to bounce back in Saturday's second Test. McGeechan said: "We need to put the building blocks together in the set pieces on Saturday.
"Then that will give us the springboard so we can really tactically pressurise the All Blacks."
The Lions were outplayed in every phase of the game in the 21-3 first Test defeat in Christchurch.
But they helped boost morale on Tuesday with a 109-6 victory over lowly Manawatu.
And McGeechan added: "We were ready for it and I couldn't have asked for anything more. And I think we still would have scored points whoever the opponents were tonight.
"We actually played llike a team and you don't get team performances without team thinking. We were not trying to force it and there was a lot of unselfish play."
The Lions ran in a total of 17 tries but their total on Tuesday was seven points short of their record score against Western Australia on the 2001 Tour.
Captain for the night Gordon Bulloch said: "It's not often you put 100 points against a team. We just tried to attack them in every phase of play.
"And the guys showed great concentraction, character and composure."
