Wilkinson had treatment on a minor knock on Saturday |
Lions coach Sir Clive Woodward has named England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson among the replacements for Wednesday's second tour match against Taranaki. Flanker Martin Corry will captain the tourists, who name a completely different XV to the one that beat Bay of Plenty 34-20 on Saturday.
He is tipped to play a key role for the British and Irish Lions following the injury of Lawrence Dallaglio.
The Lions face New Zealand in the first of three Tests on 25 June.
Corry came on after 20 minutes of the tourists' opening match on New Zealand soil when Dallaglio limped out injured. "Lawrence has been immense around the squad but the fact is what has happened is incredibly unfortunate and, as a whole squad, we have to take this on the chin and move on," said Corry.
"It is not about looking over your shoulder and thinking what might have been, it's about saying 'these are our cards and let's move on from them', we can all make excuses but soft men make excuses. We've got to get our heads down and get on with it."
The Leicester number eight, who was named the PRA players' player of the year last month, has past captaincy experience having led England earlier this season in their Six Nations game against Italy.
But he will start Wednesday's match at blindside flanker.
Corry will be assisted on the field by vice-captain Will Greenwood, who makes his tour bow along with the likes of Charlie Hodgson.
Scotland number nine Chris Cusiter gets the nod at scrum-half, while Woodward has picked an all-Irish back three in Denis Hickie, Shane Horgan and Geordan Murphy.
