Gavin Henson meets a young fan at the first Lions get-together |
Wales centre Gavin Henson says he has been left a bit baffled by his first taste of Lions coach Sir Clive Woodward's team-bonding methods. The players met in Cardiff this week for motivational talks, but Henson is itching for proper training to begin.
"It was just a bit of team building stuff - some painting and role playing. I wasn't too comfortable with it all; I don't think anyone was," he said.
"But it brought us out of ourselves and we mixed pretty well."
Head coach Woodward is renowned as one of the most meticulous coaches in rugby who leaves nothing to chance.

Henson said it is too early for him to make comparisons between Woodward and Wales coach Mike Ruddock, but Woodward's attention to detail has already left its mark on the 23-year-old.
"I haven't seen him [Woodward] on the training field yet, but he's pretty keen on his meetings, so that's something I'll have to get used to," Henson told BBC Wales Sport.
"I'm looking forward to his input on the field. I'm not used to all this off-field stuff - training is what I'm comfortable with."
Henson's next chance to reacquaint himself with his fellow Lions will not be until Tuesday, 17 May when the squad gathers at their Cardiff base to prepare to face Argentina at the Millennium Stadium.
Woodward has insisted the 23 May match is the first match of the tour, and not a gentle warm-up match.
"It'll be nice to be involved in that one, especially since it's at the Millennium Stadium," added Henson.
"Wales is buzzing at the moment so it should be a full house and hopefully we'll get as many Welsh players in as possible."
