Scotland coach Matt Williams is under increasing pressure

Williams, who has a record of just three Test wins from 17 outings, made a presentation to the board on Thursday.

The meeting was called to consider a report on Scotland's poor showing in the RBS Six Nations.

BBC Sport reported last month that Williams will not be in charge by the time of this year's autumn Tests.

A statement on the Scottish Rugby website read: "The Board will continue to review all of the information provided and expects its deliberations to be completed by the end of April."

Williams' position was further undermined by leaked news of a players' questionnaire that was critical of the Australian coach's methods.

Williams has two years remaining on his contract but has endured a troublesome 17 months at the helm during which his side have won just one Six Nations match.

Last year he suffered a whitewash in the tournament and only averted another this term with an insipid 18-10 win over Italy, either side of which Scotland slumped to record defeats to Ireland and Wales.
