Anton Oliver returns at hooker |
New Zealand have made 13 changes to the side that beat England as they seek to complete a 'grand slam' over the home unions against Scotland on Saturday. Captain Tana Umaga, who reverts to inside centre, and lock Chris Jack are the only players to retain their spots.
Flanker Richie McCaw, lock James Ryan and hooker Anton Oliver, unavailable for the England clash, all return.
Saimone Taumoepeau and John Afoa are the props, while Angus MacDonald and Sione Lauaki also come into the pack.
There is a first start of the tour for exciting youngster Isaia Toeava at full-back, with Rico Gear, Joe Rokocoko and Conrad Smith also coming into the three-quarters.
Toeava, 19, has only one full NPC game for Auckland to his name.
John Afoa and Saimone Taumoepeau, with only a handful of caps between them, will prop the scrum.
Piri Weepu and Nick Evans are the half-back pairing.
Victory for New Zealand this weekend would seal their first 'grand slam' since 1978.
"It's very important that we have Tana skippering the side for this match," said head coach Graham Henry.
"This is a very important occasion for the team. They will not get this opportunity again."
