South Africa coach Jake White praised 20-year-old Meyer Bosman after his side's victory over Wales. "I cannot applaud him enough," he said. "He had to move to full-back and take kicks and he showed a lot of maturity playing in his first Test match in front of 75,000 people."
White claimed Percy Montgomery's dismissal was "harsh" but thought his team recovered admirably.
"I thought we have played better than that but at times we were very good."
He continued: "Considering we played with 14 men for 20 minutes, 33-16 against Wales at the end of a tour when we haven't done that well is good enough to move on to the next country."
South African captain John Smit, who made his 50th appearance for his country, complimented White on his decision to introduce Bosman to the side.
"You can't ask any more from a coach supposedly taking a risk with a youngster. Meyer turned in an excellent performance."
