Wales have failed to beat New Zealand since 1953 |
Wales will play the All Blacks in Cardiff on 5 November, the New Zealand Rugby Union confirmed on Wednesday. The tourists had wanted to play on 3 December to complete their first full tour of Britain since 1978, but Wales were concerned about club commitments.
The Millennium Stadium hosts the game, which is part of a tour including Tests against England, Scotland and Ireland.
The game will commemorate the 100-year anniversary since the first meeting between the two sides in 1905.
Wales won that match 3-0 to inflict New Zealand's only defeat on the European tour, but All Black Bobbie Deans swore to his dying day that his disallowed try should have stood.
The extra date means the All Blacks will play each of the home nations in the autumn.
They will play Ireland, England and Scotland on successive Saturdays after the Millennium Stadium encounter.
It also means that Grand Slam winners Wales will face all of the Tri-Nations sides in their November series.
Wales lock Brent Cockbain, who played in the 26-25 defeat when the two teams last met in November, anticipates a classic match.
"It's fantastic to get a re-match for the last autumn series when we lost by one point," he told BBC Wales Sport.
"It would be interesting to see now how we'd go against them after such a successful Six Nations.
"I think it'll be an interesting time in the autumn."
